I'm traveling with a group of 10 or more, anything we should know?
Yes. If you plan to arrive by bus or van in a group of 10 or more, you must pre-register your arrival with the hotel at least 14 days prior. The bellhops at the hotel are all union employees, and will charge $7.05 per bag as a mandatory porterage fee at check-in and at checkout. The hotel will turn away any groups of 10 ore more who didn't pre-register their arrival 14 days prior to the conference.
What if we tell the bus/van driver to drop us off a block away from the hotel?
Yes, great idea! Have your van/bus drop you off a block away, and walk with your bags to the front desk. Then you will not be charged any porterage fees by the bellhop looking for groups in vans/buses.
What is the cancellation policy?
If you cancel your reservation 24 hours in advance, your credit card will not be charged by the hotel. The Marquis wait-list ended on July 26th. All cancellations made after July 26th will not be returned to our room block. Selfishness - Self Centeredness! That, we think, is the root of our troubles. (BB pg 62)
